About

Terry Clinefelter is an Assistant Professor in the Haskell & Irene Lemon Construction Science Division at the University of Oklahoma. He earned his BS in Business Administration from Florida State University and a MS in Building Construction from The University of Florida. Terry is currently pursuing a PhD in Planning, Design, and Construction at the University of Oklahoma.

Before joining OU in 2025, he served for over 15 years as Department Head of the Construction Technology program at Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City, where he led curriculum development, expanded industry partnerships, and championed hands-on learning initiatives. His teaching portfolio includes courses in blueprint reading, estimating, construction management, energy efficient construction, MEP systems and sustainable construction. His research focuses on experiential learning in construction education, with an emphasis on the role and cost of hands-on laboratory instruction in four-year construction science programs.

Professionally, his work experience in residential and light commercial construction, having worked in project management, and owning a small property management and consulting business with his wife based out of Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Terry is deeply engaged in workforce development and community outreach, serving as VP for Construct My Future, an organization centered on providing learning opportunities and career pathway for young people high the construction industry and focused on technical and construction training.
