Ramtin Mir
About
Ramtin is a Ph.D. candidate in Planning, Design, and Construction (PDC) and Instructor of Record at the Gibbs College of Architecture. His interests lie at the intersection of design and constructability, with particular emphasis on Building Information Modeling (BIM) and the optimization of design decision-making processes.
He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Tehran and an MBA with a concentration in strategic planning. His doctoral research develops a BIM-enabled value engineering framework for mass timber construction in prototypical retail buildings. Specifically, his work integrates life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) and the choosing by advantage (CBA) method within a Building Process Modeling and Notation (BPMN) framework to support more efficient and informed decision-making in the design and construction process.
