About

K. Meghan Wieters teaches courses in environmental planning; subdivision planning, history, and theory; and planning related issues with public health and active living. Dr. Wieters received her Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Sciences at Texas A&M University (2009), where she also received a Robert Wood Johnson Active Living Research dissertation grant to support her research on issues related to public health and the built environment . Dr. Wieters received her Masters of Science in Community and Regional Planning (MSCRP) at the University of Texas at Austin and her B.A. in Philosophy, International Studies (concentration on Latin America) and minor in Spanish at Trinity University. Dr. Wieters was a practicing planner in Austin, Texas for 10 years working in transit planning, neighborhood planning and non-motorized mode planning.
