About

Shideh is an Assistant Professor specializing in creating, making and breaking structural designs with architects. As a researcher and engineering designer, she has explored the fields of concrete materials and steel structures in order to maintain a broad set of interests, knowledge and experiences. Shideh has over fifteen years of experience in design, construction, experimental testing on concrete slabs-on-ground and research in the behavior of cold-formed Z-purlin steel members. Prior to teaching, Shideh worked for the Department of Transportation as a project manager and design engineer, cost estimator and consultant engineer for municipal projects in Central Oklahoma.

Shideh brings these experiences to the structural courses that she teaches at the University of Oklahoma. She enjoys interacting with students, learning about their passions and interests and being involved in studio and industry course projects. Her objective is for students to gain a superior understanding of the application of structural concepts during the design process.
