About
Julie Ann Hornbeek recently joined the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture Division of Interior Design as a lecturer. Previously, she practiced professionally for about 15 years as a Senior Designer in Oklahoma City with REES. Her portfolio is focused on corporate commercial, higher education and healthcare – with some additional experience in historic preservation, hospitality and K-12 education. Hornbeek graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 2009 with a Bachelor of Interior Design and a minor in Art History. She obtained NCIDQ certification in 2013 and has held a Registered Interior Designer license with the State of Oklahoma since 2017. Hornbeek hopes to infuse students with real-world, applicable knowledge and skills that will prepare them for their future careers in design. She resides in Oklahoma City with her husband, two children and their extra-large Labrador Blue.
