Si Chen is a visiting assistant professor of Regional and City Planning. Si had her Ph.D. study in Urban Informatics through the Schools of Information Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she was also a research assistant and associate director for the Landuse Evolution and impact Assessment Modeling Lab. Her research focuses on creating systems and methodologies that apply advanced spatial analysis in the urban planning to make better decisions for sustainable and resilient cities. Specific topics include urban informatics, spatial analysis, planning support system, accessibility, and sustainability.
